1. Background

By the end of 2016, 7-Eleven had 61,500 stores in 17 countries or regions around the world, making it the world's largest convenience store chain. There is a saying that there are only two kinds of convenience stores in the world, and that is 7-Eleven and other convenience stores.

7-Eleven was introduced to Taiwan in 1978. It is understood that by July 2014, there were as many as 5,000 7-Eleven stores in Taiwan.
